about potatoes:

for cooked salt potatoes:

cutting in big pieces

put the potato pieces in a saucepan

add 1 tsp salt/800 g potato

add water, so that a third of the potatoes is not covered

leave saucepan with lid on

bring it to a boil with stove plate on highest level ↑6/6

then turn on stove plate to ↓1/6 and check in the first minute that you can leave it again with lid on (sometimes at first water boils over a little bit!)

circa 20 minutes later, test with a knife, if potatoes are ready cooked

then drain the potatoes

add a small piece of butter (3-5 g/800 g potatoes)

shake the saucepan with lid on for a couple of times

now you can serve it!

about rice:

about rice:

used rice = long grain rice:

for example for 2 people:

prepare a saucepan with 200 g rice, 400 ml water (=2x rice volume), 3-4 pinches of salt, ½ soup cube and stir

turn on stove plate (highest level, ↑6/6) for a short time to bring it to a boil

turn on stove plate to ↓1/6 and stir once

then simmering without stirring until there is no water anymore

circa 20 minutes later it is fluffy

another versions:

if you want the rice more crispy or tender, take 5-10 % less or more water

you can add at the beginning of the boiling procedure a half onion with a few cloves in it

instead of water you can use 50/50 water and white wine
